That wouldn't have been such a shock, in fact, I'm sure plenty of people are found dead sitting in front of their TV, some of them may even come with complimentary bullet holes!
ahem, anyway, the crazy/tragic part is that the woman was found dead 42 years after she was reported missing. That's right, back in 1966, Hedviga Golik made herself a nice cup of tea, sat herself in front of the tv, set the cup of tea next to her, then died.
Hedviga Golik sat undisturbed, in front of her TV, in her apartment in the Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, for 42 years. She was 42 years old.
The slightly more disturbing thing is that she was reported missing back in 1966, and the Croatian Police (finest law enforcement officials this side of the Rubicon... don't ask which side, I don't have a clue) never bothered checking her home.
Ah well, what can you do. Le sigh, Croatian PD, le sigh.
