the "i'm" initiative.

I just came across some commercial on current tv about the Microsoft i'm initiative, it's some sort of program where every time you use hotmail or instant messenger, Microsoft will actually donate a small amount from the banner ads (I think) to a select charity of your choice. This sounded too much like one of those old chain email that told you to forward the email to as many people as you know and Microsoft/AOL/Jesus/MaoTseDon will send you a check or a picture of your naked Russian mail order bride (I hear that the brides are actually conman now, who knew that Russia's running out of con-woman?). Ahem, anyway, below is a list of the charities that the i'm initiative will donate to:

So if you happen to use hotmail or instant messenger regularly, why not sign up for i'm, sure it may be some sort of disguised spyware in philanthropic cloth, but then again, everything online is trying to steal your information, might as well let your information be sold to a charity of your choice.
