@gus: yes it did start with Goldeneye, it was a glitch that resulted in wiggling the cartridge in the system. All the others are parodies.

@Mr.Cat, it's not even an alternate meaning. As Sven said, internet phenomena like this perfectly fit the definition of "meme" as Dawkins intended it.
@chad - Well, from what I recall from reading about the concept of a "meme", it's very broad. Saying some word, phrase, song, or video is a "meme" becomes sortof redundant, right? Clearly it's a meme, because it's communicated, right? So that's why I consider the "internet meme" definition to be separate, or at least more specific. (That is, if I recall the meaning of "meme" correctly.)
